Dr. Janique Walker is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Trauma Therapist, and Assistant Professor in the Master of Science in Addictions Counseling program at Coppin State University, Baltimore, Maryland. With a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling and Counselor Education, Dr. Walker brings academic rigor and lived experience to her teaching, research, and clinical work.
Her research spans trauma, adverse childhood experiences, addiction, vocational rehabilitation, chronic pain, and the unique challenges faced by military families. She has authored publications in leading journals such as the Journal of Applied Rehabilitation Counseling, the Journal of Rehabilitation, Research, Policy, and Education, and the Journal of Trauma Studies in Education.
A decorated U.S. Army Reserve veteran with 15 years of service, Dr. Walker is committed to supporting underserved and vulnerable populations, particularly children and families. Her dynamic clinical background and heartfelt leadership style have made her a trusted voice in counseling, education, and trauma-informed care. Her guiding philosophy is simple but powerful: A little love goes a long way.
